Her Campus

I had the pleasure of working for Her Campus as a news editorial intern during my second semester at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Having never gained any writing experience prior to this, needless to say I was incredibly nervous before my first article was published. It turned out to be a success and after that I found writing easier. I have learnt so much from the girls I met through this, and am ever grateful for the opportunity - especially as I had a little bit of an obsession with Her Campus prior to being hired which made it all the more fun to write for them.

Then back to the UK . . . And in August 2012, my friend and I successfully applied to open a branch of Her Campus at the University of Nottingham, to which we were returning in September to complete our 4th and final year of study. We opened it in September, and were the 4th chapter to open in the UK! Armed with a talented team of writers, bloggers and editors, we then doubled our team in January 2013. It'll soon be time to hand over the reigns to our new Co-Editor-in-Chiefs, and I'm more than confident that HC Nottingham will flourish with them! This has been a great first year for HC Nottingham - most recently we achieved Bronze Chapter Level and were added to the Her Campus Dean's List. I'm so proud and so grateful that we took the leap and opened the chapter at Nottingham. It has been great.
